Experience the rebroadcast of our final concert of the 2021-2022 season: Joycean Perspectives!
In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the publication of James Joyce’s Ulysses, Network collaborated with The Rosenbach to present a new song cycle based on select passages from the novel by Grammy Award-winning composer Lansing McLoskey.
McLoskey’s commissioned song cycle One Book Called Ulysses, featuring mezzo-soprano Maren Montalbano and scored for voice and sinfonietta, and was featured alongside selections from Joyce Cycle by Otto Luening, who worked closely with Joyce in the English Players Company, Samuel Barber's Solitary Hotel, which uses text from Ulysses, and Joyce’s original song “Bid Adieu to Girlish Days."
